Riding Lessons

Private horse riding lessons – 30 minutes

*$80 weekdays (Mon – Fri) *$110 weekends (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

30 minute private horse riding lessons are the perfect way to get started here at Tathren. These lessons are undertaken with a mature age, female instructor on a fully trained school horse, that is ready to ride!

Private horse riding lessons – 60 minutes

$160 – weekdays (Mon-Fri), or $220 – weekends (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

60 minute private lessons are perfect for those riders that are ready to spend more time in the saddle, or who wish to learn out of the saddle, as well. We can also split this lesson into a “hands on“ 30 minute catching, leading, grooming, saddling and bridling session; followed by a 30 minute riding lesson.

Group lessons-2 hrs. ONLY available to regular private lesson pupils

$110

Group lessons are only available to our regular private lesson pupils, who are very competent at a strong pace of trot. These lessons are 2 hours in duration. For the first half an hour, you are taught how to catch, lead, Groom, Saddle and bridle your horse; before undertaking a 60 minute group riding session. The last half an hour,you will learn how to untack,Groom and/or wash and rug your horse. These lessons are perfect for developing rider’s skills, both in and out of the saddle!

Private “hands on horses” lesson

Weekdays/nights:$80 -30 mins,or $160 - 60 min. Weekends/ public hols:$110 - 30min,or $220 -60 min.

These lessons are done out of saddle; and can cover many topics and skills associated with correctly handling horses on the ground. Topics can include: catching, leading, grooming, washing, saddling, bridling, lunging, stable and paddock management, nutrition, float loading etc

VIP Volunteer Sessions

Free

Here at Tathren, we love to share our knowledge developed over 45 years, with our pupils. We offer our regular pupils (over 10yrs of age) the chance to volunteer, and get their hands dirty behind the scenes of our busy riding school and horse stud.
These sessions are offered at both the beginning and end of each day.
